چکیده

The conditional saddle-point heights (conditional barriers) that preside over the emission of complex fragments (Z = 2—11) from compound nuclei have been obtained from the excitation functions of individual fragments in the reaction He+""Ag. The magnitudes of the barriers and their dependence on mass asymmetry may be used to verify important features of the potential-energy surface including shell effects at the conditional saddle and to verify the validity of the liquid-drop model and recent refinements such as finite-range effects and surface diffuseness.

Comparison between cross sections, saddle point and scission point barriers for the 32S+24Mg reaction

One of the principal characteristics of nuclear multifragmentation is the emission of complex fragments of intermediate mass. The statistical multifragmentation model has been used for many years to describe the distribution of these fragments. An extension of the statistical multifragmentation model to include partial widths and lifetimes for emission, interprets the fragmentation process as t...

Extended Hauser-Feshbach Method for Statistical Binary-Decay of Light-Mass Systems

An Extended Hauser-Feshbach Method (EHFM) is developed for light heavy-ion fusion reactions in order to provide a detailed analysis of all the possible decay channels by including explicitly the fusion-fission phase-space in the description of the cascade chain. The mass-asymmetric fission component is considered as a complex-fragment binary-decay which can be treated in the same way as the lig...

Hidden systematics of fission channels

It is a common procedure to describe the fission-fragment mass distributions of fissioning systems in the actinide region by a sum of at least 5 Gaussian curves, one for the symmetric component and a few additional ones, together with their complementary parts, for the asymmetric components. These components have been attributed to the influence of fragment shells, e.g. in the statistical sciss...

Z-dependent Barriers in Multifragmentation from Poissonian Reducibility and Thermal Scaling

We explore the natural limit of binomial reducibility in nuclear multifragmentation by constructing excitation functions for intermediate mass fragments (IMF) of a given element Z. The resulting multiplicity distributions for each window of transverse energy are Poissonian. Thermal scaling is observed in the linear Arrhenius plots made from the average multiplicity of each element. “Emission ba...

Simultaneous Determination of Ibuprofen and Caffeine in Urine Samples by Combining MCR-ALS and Excitation-emission Data

Second order advantage of excitation-emission fluorescence matrix was applied for the simultaneous determination of ibuprofen and caffeine. The proposed method is based on the measurement of the native fluorescence and recording emission spectra of ibuprofen and caffeine in different excitation wavelengths. The mixture of these compounds was resolved by multivariate curve resolution coupled wit...
